Use of Other's Intellectual Property

When using other's intellectual property, attribution to the original author must be given in order to avoid potential plagiarism. In the Student Handbook, Academic Misconduct, Examples of Academic Misconduct, plagiarism is defined as:

"Knowingly presenting the work of another as one's own (i.e., without proper acknowledgement of the source). The sole exception to the requirement of acknowledging sources is when the ideas, or information are common knowledge."
